욥기(JOB) 29:18 - 욥기(JOB) 29:25

18	내가 스스로 말하기를 나는 내 보금자리에서 숨을 거두며 나의 날은 모래알 같이 많으리라 하였느니라
19	내 뿌리는 물로 뻗어나가고 이슬이 내 가지에서 밤을 지내고 갈 것이며
20	내 영광은 내게 새로와지고 내 손에서 내 화살이 끊이지 않았노라
21	무리는 내 말을 듣고 희망을 걸었으며 내가 가르칠 때에 잠잠하였노라
22	내가 말한 후에는 그들이 말을 거듭하지 못하였나니 나의 말이 그들에게 스며들었음이라
23	그들은 비를 기다리듯 나를 기다렸으며 봄비를 맞이하듯 입을 벌렸느니라
24	그들이 의지 없을 때에 내가 미소하면 그들이 나의 얼굴 빛을 무색하게 아니하였느니라
25	내가 그들의 길을 택하여 주고 으뜸되는 자리에 앉았나니 왕이 군대 중에 있는 것과도 같았고 애곡하는 자를 위로하는 사람과도 같았느니라

Job 29:18–25 (Listen)

18   Then I thought, ‘I shall die in my nest,
    and I shall multiply my days as the sand,
19   my roots spread out to the waters,
    with the dew all night on my branches,
20   my glory fresh with me,
    and my bow ever new in my hand.’
21   “Men listened to me and waited
    and kept silence for my counsel.
22   After I spoke they did not speak again,
    and my word dropped upon them.
23   They waited for me as for the rain,
    and they opened their mouths as for the spring rain.
24   I smiled on them when they had no confidence,
    and the light of my face they did not cast down.
25   I chose their way and sat as chief,
    and I lived like a king among his troops,
    like one who comforts mourners.
